After a successful first edition last year, Albufeira Council has confirmed the return of Albufeira Sea Fest on April 7 and 8.
Due to take place at Praça dos Pescadores beachside square from 9am to 11pm, the event is described as a “great party for youngsters and families” during the Easter school break.
There will be concerts – with a headlining performance by Portuguese rapper Carlão on April 8 at 9pm – as well as “spectacular performances” by some of the best national skaters and BMX riders. There will also be a wealth of street entertainment, traditional games, workshops and environmental education activities.
“Albufeira is one of the most sought-after tourist destinations around Easter time. This party is for them and their families, so that they can enjoy this magnificent programme, the nice weather and their first dives in the sea, as well as our gastronomy, entertainment and hospitality,” said local mayor José Carlos Rolo.
“Albufeira has a good climate, good food, excellent hotels, welcoming people; in other words, it has all the conditions to receive those who visit us, which is something we want to take advantage of with this big party, which aims to turn Albufeira into the main national destination for Easter holidays,” the mayor added.
