The new “Cegonha Branca” (White Stork) electric ferry will start making experimental journeys with passengers next week on the route between Seixal and Cais do Sodré (Lisbon), according to the chairwoman of the Transtejo/Soflusa board of directors. Speaking to reporters during the ship’s maiden voyage today, Alexandra Ferreira de Carvalho explained that these experimental journeys will help gauge how long the route will take. On board with her were the prime minister and minister for the environment. Says SIC, the PM used the occasion to “reinforce the importance of lithium and green hydrogen”, two projects that are now subject of a probe into suspected influence trafficking.
