As part of its talent retaining objective, United Investments Portugal (UIP) has just promoted Hélder Martins – until now Managing Director of the Hyatt Regency Lisboa – to Director of the emblematic Pine Cliffs Resort in Albufeira.
“At the Pine Cliffs Resort, Hélder Martins will be responsible for implementing a strategy of continuity of service excellence that is characteristic of the resort, focusing on the authenticity of the experiences offered to customers, human resources, commercial and operational areas”, said UIP in a statement.
Due to the resort’s diversity of experiences and services, this is a large-scale project that covers areas as diverse as wellness, sports, F&B, real estate and hospitality.
“UIP is a group of excellence and a reference in the hospitality industry, both nationally and internationally, and it is an honour to be part of this team. Leading the opening of the first Hyatt Regency in Portugal was a huge challenge, as will be managing a large unit such as the Pine Cliffs Resort, which has maintained a high quality and consistent service over the years”, says Hélder Martins.
Hélder Martins has more than 20 years of international experience in luxury brand hotel management, having already worked in six countries across three continents, and collaborated with brands such as Hyatt Regency, Sheraton, Westin, Marriott and W Hotels.
The professional began his career in 1999 in Portugal at the Porto Palácio Congress Hotel & Spa – ‘The Editory Collection Hotels’, having also worked in the F&B department of the Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa – Starwood Hotels & Resorts, between 2004 and 2013, where he consolidated his specialisation.
In Lisbon, Javier Soler Muñoz was appointed to manage the Hyatt Regency Lisboa, a project that is already a reference for the Portuguese capital’s hotels. The professional, who has extensive experience in tourism, moves from the Radisson Hotel Group, where he has been for the last seven years as Strategic Director for new openings in Europe.
Throughout his career, Javier Soler Muñoz has worked with different hotel brands, such as Westin, Radisson and Hyatt Regency, in other regions (Dubai, Copenhagen, Spain and now Portugal).
“It is with great satisfaction that I return to the prestigious brand that was instrumental at the beginning of my career, Hyatt Regency. I stayed at the former Hyatt Regency La Manga for eight years, which recently reopened as a Grand Hyatt, and this return to Hyatt Regency for such a special project, now in Lisbon, could not be more challenging. This is a unique hotel with a fantastic location and a truly differentiating offer in the Portuguese capital. I’m really excited to lead this team”, says Javier Soler Muñoz.
