Public sector workers get December 26 and January 2 off work

The caretaker government has decreed that public sector workers can take off the day after Christmas Day (December 26) and the day after New Year’s Day (January 2) this year, meaning they effectively get two days’ holiday. Services will reopen on the Wednesdays following both holidays.
