Wine experts, producers, enthusiasts, sommeliers and entities will come together for the first Lagoa Wine Tourism Forum, which will take place at Hotel Bricia Du Mar in Ferragudo between November 9 and 10.
“Innovation and Sustainability Challenges” has been chosen as the theme for the event, which will explore how wine tourism can bolster a tourist destination and will highlight success stories, market perspectives and new trends.
Notable speakers include Rita Soares from Herdade da Malhadinha Nova; Sara Silva, President of the Algarve Wine Commission; Luís Encarnação, Mayor of Lagoa; and André Gomes, President of the Algarve Tourism Region.
Says Lagoa Council in a statement, this event will take place in the same year that the Algarve’s new wine tourism route was unveiled, and which aims to show wine lovers where to find the best local wines or how to visit wineries around the region.
Tickets to attend the Wine Tourism Forum cost €60 per person and include full access to the event, including “support material, a participating diploma, coffee breaks, full lunches, wine tourism experiences and any necessary travelling related to the event.” They can be purchased online, at CTT, Worten or FNAC ticket offices, or in Lagoa at the local cultural centre, auditorium and Balcão Único.
